The contractor working on the James E. Roberts (Hwy. 120) Bridge at the northern end of Don Pedro Lake will begin removing the Safe Span structure that is suspended beneath the bridge beginning Sept. 11. Work will take place Mondays through Fridays from 7 am to 3 pm. Removal of this structure is expected to take four to five weeks. PLEASE DO NOT BOAT UNDER AREAS OF THE BRIDGE WHERE ACTIVE OVERHEAD SPAN REMOVAL IS OCCURRING.

Primitive camping along the lakeshore, known as Dispersed Area Camping, is a unique and popular activity that allows Don Pedro Lake campers to travel by boat and set up camp along the water’s edge in primitive locations. Such use requires a Dispersed Area Camping/Lake Navigation Map and permit (obtain at the entrance station - first come first serve). Campers are reminded that open fires are not allowed and to be prepared for primitive conditions. “Take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints”…
